Agreement and app license
These Terms apply to the Papeo iOS application provided by Evgenii Doronin (“Papeo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account and accepting these Terms, you agree to them. Your app license is also governed by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.
What Papeo provides
Papeo is a calorie counter for manually recording food, grams and nutrition, maintaining a personal catalogue and comparing confirmed entries with goals you choose. Confirmed data is stored in the signed-in account and can synchronize through Cloud Firestore.
Papeo does not diagnose, treat or prevent disease, prescribe a diet, choose a safe calorie target, verify nutrition labels or replace a doctor or qualified dietitian. You are responsible for your goals, entries and health decisions.
Your account and responsibilities
You must sign in with an available Apple identity and keep that identity and device secure. You are responsible for checking which account is active before entering data or purchasing Premium.
Use Papeo lawfully. Do not attempt to bypass account, App Check, rate, subscription or credit controls; interfere with the service; upload content you have no right to use; or use the app to harm another person or system.
Photo recognition is an estimate
Photo recognition is optional, available only to people aged 18 or over and requires separate consent. It creates an editable draft. Food identity, grams, calories and other nutrition values may be incomplete or wrong. Review and correct every item before saving. Do not rely on a draft for medical, allergy, safety or treatment decisions.
Free use and Premium allowances
Manual entry, catalogue, goals and history are free without an artificial use limit. Without an active trial or subscription, an account may receive up to three useful photo-recognition results per UTC day. A failed result does not use that free allowance.
Papeo offers monthly and annual auto-renewing Premium subscriptions. Each eligible seven-day trial includes 360 successful photo results for the whole trial. A monthly subscription includes 360 successful results for each billing month. An annual subscription is divided into 12 consecutive monthly cycles of 360 results. Unused results do not carry forward, and a failed recognition does not consume a result. While Premium is active, its allowance applies instead of the three daily free results.
Premium access is tied to the Papeo account used for the purchase through RevenueCat. It is not automatically transferred between different Papeo accounts. Manual features remain available when Premium is inactive or its photo allowance is exhausted.
Trials, billing, renewal and cancellation
Apple processes all payments. The price, currency, billing period and trial eligibility shown by Apple at confirmation control the transaction. A trial is available only when Apple marks the Apple ID eligible. Unless canceled, a trial converts to a paid subscription and a paid subscription renews automatically. Apple may charge the account within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Manage or cancel in Apple Account subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect under Apple’s rules, normally at the end of the current paid or trial period. Deleting Papeo, signing out or deleting a Papeo account does not cancel the Apple subscription. Papeo cannot cancel it for you. Apple handles billing disputes, refund requests, purchase history and trial eligibility.
Restore Purchases asks Apple and RevenueCat to restore an eligible entitlement. Restoration depends on the Apple ID, the original Papeo account and RevenueCat’s purchase-transfer rules; it is not guaranteed for a newly created different Papeo account.
Deletion and data loss
Delete account permanently removes the Papeo account and its account data as described in the Privacy Policy. The action cannot be undone. Another device that is offline or unavailable cannot be erased at the instant you press the button; it clears accessible Papeo data when it next detects the deleted account.
You are responsible for confirming that deletion is intended and for managing the separate Apple subscription first if you do not want it to renew. We do not promise recovery of a deleted account or diary.
Availability and changes
Network access, Firebase, Google AI, RevenueCat and Apple services may be unavailable or delayed. We may correct defects, protect the service, change features or discontinue future support. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation or permanent availability of a particular recognition model.
We may update these Terms when the product, subscription or legal obligations change. If the accepted version changes, Papeo may require review and acceptance before continued use.
Warranty and liability boundaries
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Papeo is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee the accuracy of food, gram, calorie or nutrition estimates or that use of the app will produce a particular weight or health outcome.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Evgenii Doronin is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or lost-profit damages arising from use of the app, reliance on an estimate, service interruption or loss of data. These limits do not exclude liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Apple’s Standard EULA also contains terms that apply to the app license.
